Scent of a Woman
I don´t have one favourite movie, I have several. But the latest film that I saw and I loved it is Scent Of A Woman... Did you heard it? It`s a great movie, that gets through my heart.
Scent of a woman it´s a movie of 1992, directed by Martin Brest and starring by Al Pacino, Chris O`Donnell, James Rebhorn, Gabrielle Anwar and Philip Seymour Hoffman. It`s a remake of the movie Profumo di donna fulfilled by Dino Risi in 1974.
The movie it´s about a young man called Charlie who doesn´t have money and he needs to work to pay his studies at the university. He is very kind with people and have the best marks. He find a job: he has to take care of a blind man, because his family are going to another city.
The blind man is very aggressive with people, he drinks whiskey everyday. At first Charlie is very nervous with him, but he takes the job anyway. The man propose him to go to New York (the best american city in my opinion (: ). He don´t want, but finally he accept.. it`s not his favourite panorama, but it`s difficult for him to say no. I think in that way the protagonist is like me jajaja
Well they start their trip.. The man pay everything: the trip ticket, the hotel, the food, etc. One day they are at a luxurious restaurant and the man tell him that he`s going to kill himself. Charlie can`t believe it! The man explain him that he want to do the best last things of his life and he has to visit his family. Then when they go to the man`s family, they hate him.. I believe that he has a lot of problems in the past with them because of his personality.
One day Charlie find the man with a gun in his hand and they start to fight. Charlie make him to do a promise, that he`s not going to kill himself and he is going to stay with the bullets. They have long conversations and both characters change their personalities. Charlie become stronger above life and the blind man more kind.
My favourite part is the Tango scene, where the blind man dance tango with a beautiful young woman in a restaurant. It`s splendid to see that man dancing tango :)
I`m not going to tell you more because you have to see it!! It`s a gripping film and I think it`s bored when you already know the final part.

I remember my first pet, it was a dog, a cocker spanish, called Canela because of it skin colour. She is very crazy, because she ran all the time in my garden. But one day Canela scaped from my house and we, with my family, tried to find her, but she didn´t appear.
Few years later my uncle gave us another dog. I named her Lucky, because in that time I liked the song "she is so lucky" of Britney Spears jajaj. Lucky today is with us and she´s one more of my family, it´s like my sister. When I was younger I told her my secrets and I felt she is listening to me. With the years Lucky becomes very fat and more sedentary, but one day we gave her a surprise! We took to my house another dog :O! Tomy is younger than Lucky and they maked a really good relation. Lucky now runs like she did it and take care of Tommy as a mum.
A lot of people scared with my pets :( because Lucky is a rottweiler and; Tommy, a german shepherd jajaja yes! they are very big and I think they feel they are light because they want to play with people like they are children. We have a lot of problems with my neighbors, because my dogs fight with their dogs... but they are animals, so I think that´s not a reason to hate your neighbor.
I love my dogs and I don´t imagine my life without them, they are part of the house, they protect me and make me feel happy and accompanied. See them after university it´s very pleasing... it´s like they are waiting for me everyday.
When I was younger I had another pets, but not so much time as my dogs. I had a hamster, but I didn´t know nothing about them, so I gave to him a lot of carrot and he died. I had a fish too, but I think that it´s bored because they don´t do nothing, only swim and swim jaja. We had 2 rabbits, one of my sister called Copito (he was white obviously) and my rabbit was called Carbonsillo, because he´s black... I love this rabbit, it´s very amazing, but I think he died because of the impression that caused him my dog Lucky.. She believed Carbonsillo is her son, because she rans behind him and my rabbit was very scared. But I think my mum never told me the reason of his death.

Valdivia city
My dream in the future is not very ambicious, because I want to live here in Chile, because I think that it´s not neccessary to travel very far to be happy. Chile has beautiful cities and landscapes along the country and you are near the people you love.
The city I want to live in the future is Valdivia. My plans are to start working here in Santiago to get some money or maybe abroad, and then go to the best city!! Valdivia jaja I knew this city this year in the summer, and I really loved it. The city is very integrated to the nature and it´s easy to go around it. In the summer, I went all over Valdivia by bycicle and it´s a pleasure to do it... here in Santiago the distances are too long, so we can´t walk to all the places. Another thing is that the people is very close to each other and help you when you need it.
I imagine myself older in this city being very happy, working as an architect in the Austral university and being with my family. Doing a lot of sport in the Calle-Calle river, like kayak or paddle. And drinking the best beer in the best city and with the best family jajaja it´s like a fairy tale.
Anyway I want to travel to other countries to know about other cultures and I think there are a lot of beautiful places in the world. When I was a child my dream was to know Egypt and it´s a trip that I want to make some day...

PLATAFORMA ARQUITECTURA
I´m going to talk about my favourite website of architecture that I enjoy visiting. This website is www.plataformaarquitectura.cl, where you can find very updated information about architecture and you can find a lot of topics related to the career. You can see a variety of products and construction materials, that you can use in an architecture project, for example if you need to do a bathroom or a kitchen you can look in this catologue for a lot of ideas. There are published architecture books were you can find some technical and visual ideas for your work. One book is the Neufert, very used by architects, because there you can see the adequate dimensions to project different spaces: Theaters, hospitals... and others.
The website is very complete. You can see architecture projects that are under construction now, architecture of all the world and architects' projects that participate in a tender to compete for doing public buildings.
If you are interested in looking at how architects manage the light in a building, you can see a lot of projects and rescue some ideas when you need it. Or if you are going to do a wood construction, you can see a lot of buildings using this material and how the architects manage it.
The website is very very interesting! so I hope you can see it. It´s very complete so I used it very often to take ideas for my works or only to see what´s going on with architecture in the world today. I´m subscribed to the web so I recibe e-mails with architecture news.

THE SIMPSONS
A TV show that I really like is The Simpsons, it´s about a funny family formed by a stupid dad called Homero, he is very fat and he drinks a beer called Duff every day. Marge is his wife, she is a very caring mum and she loves him. There are 3 children, Bart that is the rebel one, Lisa the intelligent one and Maggie the baby that doesn´t speak yet. My boyfriend says that The Simpsons are like my family, The Delgado show jaja and I´m Lisa, because I´m the one in the middle of my siblings jajaja.
On vacations I could see it every day, but now I see it when I can after university. I like it very much because it´s a moment that makes me laugh a lot and sometimes I see it with my family, so it´s very funny. I think The Simpsons are different from other cartoons, because they are oriented to older people and it has very funny jokes for adults principally. The family that presents this TV show is like a typical family that lives in another region and has a good relation with people in the neighborhood and all the people know each other. The unfortunate events that the characters experience make the program funnier than others and can make you laugh spontaneusly.

It´s difficult for me to talk about tecnology, because I´m not really good for those things. The last tecnological thing I got is a macbook that my parents gave me last year. At first I was scared, because I didn´t know how to use the Mac system, but now I can use it very well. It has very good programs, to edit some pictures, videos or music. I need it every day to do university work, and the programs of arquitecture you can use it in the same way that you use it in Windows, so I haven´t had problems yet. The best thing that the Macbook has is that it works faster and there are not virus that hold up the system.
I think to have a notebook is not essential to my life. I could live without it. It´s only an object that now I need principally to work for university, to make it faster. But I can continue living without it.
In my family I´m the person less technological, all of them use the Iphone and I hate it because they are all the day using internet and connected to everything. I prefer those moments without tecnology to enjoy the place or the moments, specially when I´m on holidays.

CIRQUE DU SOLEIL
Hi everybody! I remeber a great show that I saw 2 years ago, the Cirque du Soleil. I went with my family, my grandparents, uncles and cousins. That was very funny, because we had like a picnic :P. The show took place at the Movistar Arena stadium and it had a really good ilumination and setting. The people of the circus did an amazing show, they could do a lot of moves with their bodies. I admire that because I don´t have a very good elongation and I think the life of that people is very hard, they have to travel a lot to present the shows, staying far from their families. There were trapeze artists, clowns, that make the show a really wonderful sight. Some exciting thing of the show is that they didn´t speak, so we had to understand the show listening to the music and sounds also. That keeps you concentrated in what´s going on with the show. I remember I wanted to take some pictures and it was prohibited, but I took them anyway jajaja the photos are not really good, because I took them whitout flash... Last year I saw in the news another cirque called Éloize, it´s a Canadian circus that brought to Chile a show named The Rain, I saw videos of the show and I was vey motivated with a friend, Cote, that loves the world of the circus, but when I logged on internet to see the entradas, they were too expensive, so I guess I will have to settle.

My life
Hello everybody! I´m Francisca Delgado and I´m studying architecture at Universidad de Chile. I am 21 years old. I have one brother and one sister; and I´m the one in the middle, sometimes that´s good, but others not very good jajaja. I studied at Sain´t Gabriel´s School, a horrible building located in Bilbao with Tobalaba. When I was at third grade, I thought about studying architecture or design, but finally I decided for architecture. My mom is an architect and my dad a doctor, and none of my siblings wants a career in the medicine area.
My first 5 years I lived in Buenos Aires, Argentina, because of my father´s work. I remember little things of my kinder garden, because I was very small. Then I have lived here in Chile for the rest of my life, at first I live in La Reina, in too different houses, and now I live in Lo Barnechea since 5 years ago. My house it´s too far from everything, I travel to the university for more than an hour.
When I was little, I had guitar and organ lessons, and I loved music, but with the time I didn´t play any instrument. When I was 9 I started to do sports: aerobic, athletism, volleyball and the passion of my life, is playing hockey. At school I had hockey entertainment all the week, but now I have only 2 days, because of the little time that I have now at university. Another thing that I do now in my free time is cooking, some dishes I do are sushi, chupe de jaiba, ceviche, chick-peas and others. I like to see movies, go to the theatre and read too, but I can´t do those things all the time :( architecture is a hard career!!
